Dance, community and movement in Freiburg
Brazilian Zouk is a modern partner dance from Brazil. It emerged in the 1990s and has since grown into one of the most expressive social dances in the world.
What makes it special: flowing movements, a deep connection between the partners, and intense musicality. Zouk is not about step patterns — it's about body awareness, leading & following, and interpreting the music together.

Brazilian Zouk is a modern partner dance from Brazil that emerged in the 1990s. It is known for flowing movement, partner connection, body awareness and interpreting the music together.
Brazilian Zouk developed in Brazil in the early 1990s from Lambada. It became a partner dance of its own, with its own technique, connection and musicality.
Brazilian Zouk is not limited to one single music genre today. What matters is the rhythm, dynamics and mood and how both partners express the music together through movement.
Not necessarily. The event details state whether you can come on your own, whether partner rotation is planned and which leader or follower ticket you need. If you prefer to dance as a fixed couple, check the ticket-shop notes or ask us.
It depends on the workshop — the level is always stated (e.g. 'All Levels' or 'Inter./Adv.'). There are suitable formats for beginners.
Comfortable clothing you can move well in. Shoes with smooth soles are ideal — no sneakers with rubber soles.
