Our vision: to strengthen the community and let dance culture grow in Freiburg — internationally connected, but locally rooted.
How it all began
We are Alexej & Florence, a dance couple from Freiburg with a passion for Brazilian Zouk. Since March 2023 we have been teaching regular classes in Freiburg and giving workshops and intensives across the region as well as at international events. Since 2024 we have also taught at Zouk Basel, part of the Bachata Basel dance school in Münchenstein near Basel.
Our teaching goes far beyond learning figures. We place special emphasis on a good balance of technique and fun. In addition, we offer specialised ladies’ styling and men’s styling workshops that develop individual expression and create room for creativity.
A key foundation of our work is our own training: in 2023 we successfully completed the renowned MAC Teacher Training by Alex de Carvalho in Paris. This internationally recognised certification is one of the most comprehensive in Brazilian Zouk worldwide and qualifies us as certified Zouk dance teachers. This knowledge flows directly into our teaching method and guarantees classes at the highest level.
Florence Vouriot
For me, dancing is far more than movement! It's freedom and expression — letting go and connecting at the same time. My journey has taken me past Jazz Dance, Salsa and Kizomba to Bachata and Brazilian Zouk. Dance styles that, for me, embody the perfect balance of technique, emotion and creativity.
Together with Alexej we have been teaching Brazilian Zouk regularly in Freiburg since 2023. Our shared focus is on a structured build-up that welcomes beginners and offers real challenges to advanced dancers.
As the founder of Bachata Zouk Royals I made a dream come true: creating my own festival in Freiburg that brings the energy and diversity of Bachata and Zouk to our region. The festival unites top artists, international dancers and a uniquely warm, familial atmosphere.
In my teaching, it's especially important to me that my students don't just learn steps and figures, but develop a real understanding and self-confidence in movement. I want everyone who dances with me to feel: it's not about looking perfect — it's about enjoying the moment and being authentic.

Brazilian Zouk fascinated me from the very start — the combination of flowing movement, musicality and genuine partner connection. For me, dancing is more than stringing figures together: it's about understanding the mechanics behind the movement, developing body awareness, and not just hearing music but feeling it and expressing it in the dance.
Together with Florence I teach Brazilian Zouk regularly at Salsa con Pasión in Freiburg. Our teaching is structured, builds step by step, and gives every level the tools to keep developing. It matters to me that nobody goes home with question marks — feedback and open communication are central.
With 6 HOURS OF ZOUK we created a format that brings Brazilian Zouk to places where no regular classes exist. Intensive group private lessons in small teams — currently in Germany, Switzerland and France. The concept combines the advantages of private tuition with the energy of a group, while building local communities that keep practising and growing after the sessions.
My teaching style is defined by clarity, patience, and the goal of conveying not only the 'what' but also the 'why'. I believe a good foundation matters more than fast figures — and that anyone can learn to dance if the teaching is clear and tailored to the student.
