Alexej & Florence
Classes, workshops and private lessons in Freiburg.
Brazilian Zouk for beginners, advanced dancers and dancers switching to Zouk.
How it all began
We are Alexej and Florence, a dance couple from Freiburg with a passion for Brazilian Zouk. Since March 2023, we have taught Brazilian Zouk classes in Freiburg as well as workshops and intensive formats in the region and at international events. Since 2024, we have also taught at Zouk Basel, part of the Bachata Basel dance school in Münchenstein.
With our dance school A&F Studio, we want people to discover a passion for Brazilian Zouk. For us, a class can become more than a class: a new hobby, a community and a place where people feel at home through dance.
Our teaching combines a clear, easy-to-follow structure with fun, positive energy and personal feedback. We explain the principles behind technique, connection and musicality and teach content that works in social dancing. Alexej and Florence completed Alex de Carvalho’s MAC Teacher Training in Paris in 2023.

For me, dance is far more than movement. It means freedom and expression, letting go and connecting at the same time. My path led through jazz dance, salsa and kizomba to Bachata and Brazilian Zouk. In these dances, I find the balance of technique, emotion and creativity that still inspires me today.
Together with Alexej, I have taught Brazilian Zouk classes in Freiburg since 2023. We structure our classes so that beginners, advanced dancers and dancers switching to Zouk can understand the content, have fun and feel welcome in the group.
As the founder of Bachata Zouk Royals, I fulfilled my dream of creating a festival in Freiburg. It brings together Bachata and Brazilian Zouk, international dancers and our local community.
In class, I want to share enthusiasm and build confidence. It matters to me that the content is easy to understand, brings positive energy and truly helps in social dancing.

Brazilian Zouk fascinated me from the start: the combination of fluid movement, musicality and partner connection. For me, it is about understanding the mechanics behind a movement, developing body awareness and translating music into dance.
Together with Florence, I teach Brazilian Zouk classes in Freiburg. Our lessons are clearly structured, easy to understand and leave time for questions and personal feedback. I do not want anyone to go home with unanswered questions.
With 6 Hours of Zouk, we bring Brazilian Zouk Intensive Group Private Classes to established groups. The M1 to M6 modules combine personal guidance with the energy of a group and help build a local community.
I teach with patience and explain what to do and why it works. Understanding one principle matters more to me than packing as much material as possible into a class. This also makes Intermediate and Advanced content clear and useful in social dancing.
What matters to us when we teach
Florence brings expression, energy and ease; Alexej explains technical connections and clear principles. Together, we want to teach in a way that is easy to understand, fun and brings people together.
